Rustic Denmark

Ohh those Danes!  This achromatic setting has that perfect balance of raw, modern, and rustic.  All the finishes are my ideal textures:  concrete-- both raw and polished, stone walls, rough edges, interior Crittal windows, furniture with midcentury goodness.  I can go on and on!

An oldie but goodie part 2

Joanna Laajisto, an interior designer, used to live in this beautiful space in Helsinki.  She and her family have now moved to their new digs, also in Helsinki.  I remember the first time I layed eyes on this apartment, and I was dreaming about it the entire week, if not more!   Here's a look back at what once was…

Weekend Inspiration: An oldie but goodie

Anything Lotta Agaton does remain a classic.  This apartment was styled for Folkhem back in 2012.  Lotta's styling is consistent and timeless, no matter the setting.  I hope you enjoy your weekend with this wonderful monochromatic Scandinavian home!

Living in Grey

Do you like industrial?  Do you like raw interiors?  If so, then you must adore monochromatic settings, with different textures of metal, leather, concrete and weathered wood!  Danish stylist Ingeborg Wolf was inspired by designer Rick Owens when she and partner set up their digs in the most industrial of home settings I have seen to date.  With an influence of my favorite old window construction using steel and glass -- Crittal windows -- it has my most desired interior window as a room partition!  I don't know how many mood boards I have created with this same method…  The overall styling is a good mix of vintage and rustic done in the most minimalist and clean fashion.  The trick is in the mix!  Old vs. new.  How simply Modern.
