Minimalist Architecture

Just admiring the work of Brazilian architect Felipe Hess.  This one in particular embraces all the elements I find most desirable: concrete and metal.  Minimalist not in the most severe sense, but would allow one's own warm touches to it. It would be perfect with rustic wood, and natural materials.

One Can Dream | Head Amongst the Stars...

As if Paris in itself without any embellishments isn't enough of a place for one to dream, La Tête dans les Étoiles is beyond my own dreams. Overflowing with my favorite Crittal windows and Scandinavian choices, this place just exceeds a vacation fantasy.  Never mind a vacation -- I'd want this for my own house!  Wouldn't you? A backdrop of white and greys with strong black accents, neutral enough and yet allowing a bit of humour in the choice of textiles by HAY.  Yup, I could live here…

Neutral Sophistication

Interiors have had a focus on soft hues and overall delicate aesthetic in the past year or two.  It takes a very studied approach to be able to achieve those soft tone-on-tone pastels and achromatic schemes.  When it is not done well it can easily become dated.  The Scandinavian greats have been the leaders with this trend (among many other trends), and it is perfection.  I'm sure peach and grey wouldn't be your first colour combination choice if you had the freedom to combine anything you want for your home.  But the Scans have this distinct manner in using the subtle dark accents in an otherwise pale interior design…  It is just sublime.
