Nordic Castilian Fusion

Can you imagine what lies within these old stone walls?

This house reminds me of my family's old house, where we had a mix of concrete and brick walls, plus old 8' wooden doors taken from our ancestry home.  I miss the wooden beams that used to be railroad ties too!  This Castilian house salvaged as much of its old constructive elements, and combined them with newer modern materials.

The owners love for Scandinavian design is evident soon as you step in!  What a fantastic mix!  The polished concrete floors and white painted wooden planks are a great canvas for these midcentury modern furnishings.  I wouldn't change a thing...

Nobody does Eclectic like Paola Navone

I've been loving some eclectic interiors of late.  The eclectic style is not easy to impress, as far as I've seen.  But there are a few artists/ designers out there that have done it quite artfully and with so much taste, sometimes even minimally so.  Paola Navone is definitely one of my heroes!  The linens, the whites and greys, industrial aesthetic mixed with rustic textures...  Enjoy these images from loft addict.

Elegance is a must

Certain materials are just a great combination!  Black with gold, Carrara marble, grasscloth, Persian rugs, eclectic art mix, combination of metals,  dark wood with white.  Just elegant!  Another eclectic interior with great balance.

Overjoyed, over-wowed!

THE TRICK IS IN THE MIX!

Some eclectic interiors don't easily impress...  because often they're overdone.  But this home of lighting designer Michelle James simply overjoyed and over-wowed me!  I love the classic architectural elements throughout.  This house is a representation of my dream Parisian modern home!  The balance and palette are beyond words...  The overall outcome is modern and chic.  I wouldn't change a thing!
