Holiday Feeling

The alarm buzzed at 5 a.m. much to my dismay. The city street was so silent and I was reminded of holiday mornings... Ahh yes (half asleep), today is Thanksgiving and a full day ahead will be spent in the apartment in preparation for all the festivities. Crawling back into the duvet cave I had created, I dreamed of lingering cinnamon scent, pies and cranberry sauce.

The apartment is in shambles at the moment since the task of editing and packing are still in the works (we are moving to sunny California in 5 weeks, but will forever be grateful to NYC - the city that never sleeps). But I adore all the holiday feeling that surrounds New York City these past few weeks. I do gravitate to the rustic charm of old branches and paper, burlap or linen ornaments. Winter has officially begun in the city. Have you started your holiday decorations? I'm debating whether or not to pack my string of lights...

Utilize that Corner

The excitement I feel about living in a small flat is beyond me! Packing is not my favorite thing to do, but I love the editing process and visualizing the next place to live. Small spaces have always intrigued me and I am up to the challenge. Minimizing is truly the way to do it.

Been rather busying myself gathering inspiration on tiny apartments. No denying the Scans are best at furnishing those challenging corners… This space here uses ways in dividing areas without feeling obtrusive. And utilizing every single tiny corner is a must but without compromising style and functionality.

Mid-century Beach House

Whatever the setting -- be it a dry California landscape or a tree-lined street surrounded by forests, on a cliff, or by the beach, International Style | Bauhaus architecture is a true, promised beauty.

This 1960s home is everything you dreamed about. Beach or no beach, I'll take this house.

Prints to Covet

Collected art is something I move with me from city to city, no matter how small or large. Excited to set up the new digs once I move to Los Angeles, there have been a number of prints that I'm coveting...  If you haven't visited Coco Lapine Design online shop, you need to look today.

Somber, mysterious, sometimes dark, wintry and cold images often grab me. These are my favorites by far:

 Lonely House

 Snowy Tree

Black Beach

Working on Simplicity

The apartment is a mess. A transitional stage is tough, and my OCD self is imploding out of frustration. But on the bright side of things is I am ecstatic about getting a new place, and about the new things up ahead. Yup, we're moving! I've been waiting for this for some time, and though I am sad to leave New York City behind, I eagerly wait the City of Angels.

The new flat will revolve around simplicity. Looking forward to a work station that is nothing but an uncluttered, sharp, wonderful space. Hopefully with a view of the ocean (dreaming!)... Just like these images below.

The weekend will be loaded with to-do lists, and the start of much anticipated editing, donating, and packing. I admit- I'm still excited about it. Simply working on it...
